About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiographer Specialist to join our dynamic team at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Paediatric Cardiac Angiography and Interventional Radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing specialist radiography skills to support the care of our young patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Superintendent Radiographer in the day-to-day running of the Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Angiography department.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care, ensuring compliance with WHO surgical checklist.
  • Be accountable for own professional standards, maintaining a high standard of imaging and patient care at all times.
  • Carry out all radiographic examinations as per departmental protocol, adhering to Ionisation Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations 2017 and Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017.
  • Communicate effectively with rotational radiographic staff, ensuring they are updated on changes made to imaging protocols.
  • Promote good working relationships with clinical teams and ward staff to ensure patients are appropriately prepared and seen on time.
  • Train and supervise radiographers in line with the training program, ensuring competency goals are met.
  • Undertake imaging research and other research projects as directed by the Consultants and Superintendent Radiographer.
Requirements
  • Significant post-qualification experience in Cardiac Angiography or Interventional Radiology.
  • Experience working with Siemens Artis and/or Toshiba Infinix x-ray systems.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Quality assurance, Data Protection Act, IRMER 17, IRR 17, Clinical Governance.
  • Working knowledge of PACS and RIS Systems.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of Paediatric Imaging.
