ESOL Tutor for Adults

We are seeking a qualified ESOL tutor to work with adults in Oxfordshire, providing face-to-face tuition and online English lessons to improve their speaking and writing skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver tuition to adults in libraries and other venues in the Cherwell District.
- Plan and prepare each session of tutoring/mentoring.
- Develop a bespoke supporting programme using appropriate resources.
- Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet the individual's needs and advance their educational journey.
- Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on the individual's progress.
- Qualification in EAL/ESOL - level 3 or above.
- English Language, Mathematics, and ICT GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context, ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience.
- Experience working with young people and adults with EAL/ESOL.
- Experience, knowledge, and understanding of safeguarding processes.
- Excellent time and task management skills and experience of delivering tasks under pressure.
- Experience of handling data and statistics and retrieving data.
- Creating and adapting spreadsheets for business-related purposes.
- Confident in the use of web-based tools for communication.
- Experience in writing copy in plain English.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent.
A full UK driving licence and access to own transport are required for this role.
