Specialist Cancer Pharmacist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Cancer Pharmacist to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Cancer Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to adult cancer patients, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy services to adult cancer patients, including ward-based clinical pharmacy services and participation in multidisciplinary ward rounds.
- Monitor medicines use within the ward area, recording significant clinical interventions and risk management.
- Use available information to influence prescribers and ensure the most cost-effective choice of therapy.
- Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, or out-patient clinics to provide pharmaceutical advice to prescribers and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop personal practice research in accordance with the Trust and pharmacy strategy.
- Contribute to local, national, and international specialist interest groups and conferences/meetings.
Person Specification
- Qualified to a degree level (4-year MPharm or equivalent) and Pharmacist registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working as a clinical pharmacist.
- Problem identification and solving skills.
- Well-organized and good time management skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Sensitivity and tolerance.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
