About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced fund accounting team within a complex hedge fund environment. As a Fund Accounting Specialist, you will report to our Head of Fund Accounting and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. The ideal candidate is a seasoned qualified accountant with a strong background in financial analysis and a passion for delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze investor allocation and complex fee structures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversight of the accounting of the funds' underlying investments, including the review of financial statements and the identification of potential risks.
  • Review of non-trading expense items, coordination of invoice signoffs, payments, and accrual adjustments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Management of ad hoc queries from the external Fund Administrator, providing timely and accurate responses to ensure seamless communication.
  • Participation in the fund audit process to help deliver accurate year-end financial statements, working closely with our audit team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Dealing with fund-related queries from various departments, working closely with Investor Relations, Corporate Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Compliance to ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Assistance in the review of various regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Involvement in managing the share class hedging function for the funds, working closely with our trading team to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Reviewing and implementing processes to improve controls and workload associated with the monthly NAV process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Enhancement of the fund accounting infrastructure through various projects, working closely with our IT team to ensure seamless integration.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant, ACA/ACCA or international equivalent.
  • Degree educated.
  • Ideally 2-4 years' PQE experience in a similar role.
  • Experience gained within asset management in-house role as an accountant within a fund accounting team.
  • US GAAP knowledge is desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Diligent, organized, strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and to interface well with other departments, including very senior stakeholders.
  • A team player with a professional approach and a keen desire to learn.
  • Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
