ROLE OF THE PEOPLE AND CULTURE OFFICER

As the People and Culture Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Human Resources team with various administrative responsibilities to ensure the effective operation of the department. Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, including overseeing system and payroll integration for new hires, conducting exit interviews, and collaborating with other departments to facilitate seamless transitions for departing staff.
  • Regularly updating and maintaining precise HR records and data within our employee management system.
  • Conducting right to work verifications and ensuring ongoing compliance for current employees.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for any internal inquiries related to the People and Culture team.
  • Providing proactive and efficient administrative assistance across all People and Culture initiatives and projects, such as preparing probationary letters, promotion notifications, and revised contracts, as well as managing maternity and paternity leave records.
  • Assisting the Director of People and Culture and the People and Culture Manager with employee relations matters, ensuring that all case details are accurately documented.
  • Participating in the Social and Wellness committee and aiding in the planning and execution of initiatives, including two annual colleague celebrations.
  • Compiling and analyzing HR data to support strategic decision-making across various departments.
  • Issuing and preparing birthday greetings for team members.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks to support the People team and Executive team.
  • Gathering information for recognition programs such as Colleague of the Month and Manager of the Quarter.
  • Ensuring the secure handling of confidential information.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the organization.
  • Building strong working relationships at all levels and being a collaborative team player.
  • Demonstrating proactivity and self-motivation as a team member.
  • Exhibiting an interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources within the hospitality sector.
  • Possessing excellent attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Performing any additional duties as required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Familiarity with employee management systems would be advantageous, though not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong proficiency in IT, including the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
