About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) to join our team at Devon County Council. As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in providing an essential response to urgent requests for assessments under the Mental Health Act.

Key Responsibilities

As an AMHP, you will be responsible for:

  • Triage and prioritizing workloads to make decisions on carrying out assessments in line with Devon County Council's statutory responsibilities.
  • Working independently to undertake MHA assessments and providing expert advice to colleagues.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to provide a comprehensive response to mental health crises.
  • Developing and implementing specialist service models to improve the service we provide to those living in Devon.
