About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional to join our Adult Social Care team. As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with mental health needs and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out assessments and interventions under the Mental Health Act, including consideration of detention and the use of Guardianship and Community Treatment Orders.
  • Work closely with Local Authority Adult Social Care Teams to provide advice and support on complex practice issues related to mental disorder.
  • Contribute to Multi-Disciplinary Team working, safeguarding meetings, and joint visits with Social Care staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with health colleagues in Devon Partnership Trust.
Requirements
  • Hold a recognised AMHP qualification and registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body.
  • Have a proven commitment to professional development and experience of working with people in mental health crises.
  • Be able to demonstrate an excellent appreciation and understanding of the European Convention on Human Rights and a strong focus on recovery principles.
