Position Overview: Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Modelling Specialist to become a vital part of our esteemed team, which operates on a fully remote basis.

About Us: Our dedicated team of 20 professionals has a proven track record in managing projects within challenging flood zones, enhancing the Environment Agency Flood Maps, and executing intricate flood mitigation studies. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach, working within multidisciplinary teams and providing expert witness services both in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with colleagues and clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, ensuring they are engaged in the project process.
  • Contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across the private sector and major infrastructure initiatives, with opportunities for international work.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum degree in Geography, Environmental Management, or Engineering.
  • A solid technical foundation with at least 4 years of relevant experience in the UK industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Conduct hydrological analyses for model inputs using WINFAP/ReFH or alternative methodologies.
  • Develop hydraulic models based on surveys and assess third-party models for their appropriateness.
  • Translate complex modelling results into clear, accessible information to support client objectives, particularly in planning and flood alleviation.
