Job Advert: Payroll Specialist (Part Time)

Salary: 23-26k (Full time equivalent)

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and providing expert advice to all employees. With a hybrid working arrangement, which requires occasional travel to the head office, this part-time position offers a fantastic opportunity for those seeking a flexible working schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Payroll Manager throughout the payroll process, maintaining high-quality standards.
  2. Acting as the main point of contact in the absence of the Payroll Manager, ensuring tasks are completed competently and accurately.
  3. Stay updated on changes to employment and tax legislation and provide accurate advice to employees while recommending process improvements to the Payroll Manager.
  4. Administer deductions and maintain accurate records for the company's salary sacrifice schemes.
  5. Process payments to pension providers, resolving any queries promptly.
  6. Provide guidance on payroll matters to managers and employees.
  7. Process absence and handle payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
  8. Respond to requests for reports and information from management and auditors.
  9. Participate in other ad hoc tasks as directed by the Payroll Manager.

Requirements:

  1. Level 3 payroll qualification and/or a minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.
  2. Excellent administration and time management skills.
  3. Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Desirable: Previous experience with HR databases and SAGE payroll system.
