About the Role

NELFT North East London Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Phlebotomist to join our team as a Senior Phlebotomy Team Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative organization that is committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the phlebotomy team in providing a domiciliary service, supervising the weekend phlebotomy service, and training staff on venepuncture skills.
  • Support the day-to-day line management of band 3 phlebotomists, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to the development of new services and initiatives.

Requirements

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Accredited qualification in venepuncture.
  • Basic first aid qualification.
  • Experience of supervising and training junior staff, as well as experience of phlebotomy, including domiciliary experience.
  • Ability to work without a high level of supervision, excellent communication skills, and good IT skills.
  • A driver's license and the ability to use a car on a daily basis, with business insurance that includes the transportation of bloods/specimens.
