Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist to join our community phlebotomy team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth collection of blood samples from patients, supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry advancements.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Accredited Qualification in Venepuncture.
- Basic First Aid Qualification.
- Good communication and IT skills.
- A driver's license and the ability to use a car on a daily basis, with business insurance covering the transportation of blood samples.
- Broad experience in taking blood samples.
- Experience of training junior members of staff in clinical and administrative procedures.
- Experience of responsibility for maintaining stock of clinical supplies and other basic administrative duties, including arranging appointments.
- Familiarity with blood collection equipment and the ability to take corrective action in case of an untoward event.
- Extensive experience in providing a domiciliary service.
- Some experience with pediatric patients.
