Senior Shift Engineer – Continental Shift – Commercial Facility

Our client is seeking a Senior Shift Engineer to join their team in a commercial facility. The ideal candidate will possess an electrical bias (C&G / NVQ) and have a solid background in the maintenance of commercial properties. Collaborating with the on-site maintenance team, the successful individual will be responsible for executing electrical, mechanical, and fabric maintenance tasks. Work Schedule

Continental Shift Pattern - 4 Nights, 4 Off, 3 Days, 3 Nights, 6 Off, 4 Days - 07:00 am - 19:00 pm / 19:00 pm - 07:00 am

Key Responsibilities
  • Lighting: Small installations, fault-finding, lamp changes, ballast replacements, control panel work, and power distribution.
  • Emergency Lighting Maintenance
  • Air Conditioning: Managing Air Handling Units and Fan Coil Units, including filter changes and cleaning.
  • Chiller Systems: Resetting and maintenance.
  • Water Treatment: Conducting temperature checks and ensuring proper dosing.
  • Plumbing: Addressing issues such as unblocking toilets.
  • Pumps and Motors Maintenance
  • Building Management System (BMS): Monitoring hot and cold systems.
  • Completing all assigned tasks efficiently and professionally.
  • Proactively identifying and reporting faults in building services equipment.
  • Ensuring all health and safety concerns are reported and escalated as necessary.
  • Maintaining open communication with client staff regarding service levels and issues.
  • Reporting service-affecting issues to site management for formal communication.
  • Remaining adaptable regarding site attendance and tasks within personal competency.
  • Staying informed about relevant health and safety regulations and legislative matters.
  • Escorting specialist subcontractors as needed.
Qualifications
  • Electrically qualified at level 3 (C&G, NVQ, etc.)
  • 18th Edition Certification
  • Current or prior HVAP experience (preferred)
  • Experience in critical environments
  • Ability to provide copies of trade certificates (essential)
  • Proven experience in commercial building maintenance
  • Multi-skilled with strong communication abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to arrive on-site for a 07:00 am start
