This position offers a unique opportunity within Crisis Skylight Birmingham, where you will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals focused on assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in securing stable and sustainable housing.

Role Overview

As a Housing Procurement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional property acquisition services within both the private and social rental markets. You will work closely with our lead worker coaches to effectively match tenants with suitable housing options. This position demands a blend of commercial insight and innovative thinking as you engage with both social and private landlords, ensuring that our members receive the necessary support to maintain their tenancies and foster positive landlord relationships. The role offers ample opportunities for professional growth and the chance to shape your contributions from the outset.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Proven experience in sourcing, securing, and managing accommodation, ensuring successful tenancies for both tenants and landlords.
  • In-depth knowledge of the housing market in Birmingham and its surrounding areas, along with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by individuals transitioning from homelessness to housing.
  • Familiarity with housing legislation.
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in a lettings and housing procurement context.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Resilience in navigating challenging situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
