Borough of Runnymede, United Kingdom Animal and Plant Health Agency Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Team Lead to join our Science Directorate departments at the Animal and Plant Health Agency. This is an exciting permanent opportunity to support our scientists who deliver high-quality, high-impact, and highly relevant multidisciplinary science.

The successful candidate will lead and manage a small administrative team and act as the focal point of contact for all administrative, purchasing, and finance activities supporting one science department. In liaison with the department's Business Manager, the post holder is responsible for implementing financial routines, and administrative processes, corporate initiatives, planning, prioritizing, and allocating admin/finance work following a common Science Directorate (SD) approach.

The post holder will provide assistance as part of the wider SD administrative team to cover staff resource issues or other duties in the event of urgent work or a disease outbreak. You will be working in a fast-paced, reactive role supported by a friendly team who all work together to support all the scientists in their roles.

You will use your excellent Excel, Word, and Outlook skills, your management skills, together with your experience of working in a purchasing or finance environment. You will have a high standard of written and verbal English with the confidence to communicate efficiently with staff at all levels. You will have experience of minute-taking and creating action logs.

You will exercise common sense in your decision-making and be able to prioritize your own and your team's work effectively while maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality relevant to the task.

In return for your dedication, we will support your ongoing personal development through appropriate training because inclusion and supporting the development of our people matter to us. We aim to support the career and personal well-being of everyone in the Animal and Plant Health Agency.

You will have the opportunity, if you wish, to undertake a relevant apprenticeship, paid for with no loans. Our benefits include generous annual leave, flexible working, a contributory employer pension, staff bonuses and recognition, salary sacrifice benefit options, and an employee discount scheme.

You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans and a cycle to work scheme.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £30,827.00-£32,074.00 per year. The benefits package includes a company pension.
