The Operations and Business Change Analyst will play a crucial role within the Operations team, delivering analytical insights, managing defects, and overseeing changes in the insurance underwriting and policy administration systems. This position also encompasses administrative support for risk and compliance.

In collaboration with the business and various stakeholders, you will assess Defect and Small Change requirements, refine specifications, and document testing needs. Your responsibilities will include preparing Change Requests and obtaining quotes from system providers, presenting changes at the Change Advisory Board, and managing the implementation of changes in conjunction with system providers. Additionally, you will conduct testing prior to the final release to the business and stakeholders for approval based on testing criteria.

At times, the Operations and Business Change Analyst may also assist with major change initiatives and other risk, compliance, and operational tasks as necessary.

This role demands strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to perform under pressure while adhering to established frameworks. The ideal candidate will be positive, innovative, and collaborative, committed to delivering exceptional service to the business while utilizing both analytical and creative skills to address the organization’s change needs.

You will be expected to work independently in your daily tasks, operating with a degree of autonomy within the defined Change Management Framework. Engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business representatives, senior leadership, internal support teams, finance, and suppliers, will be essential for successful change delivery.

As part of your role, you will become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on insurance underwriting and policy administration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and log Defect Reports and Change Requests according to established processes.
  • Analyze Change Requests and identify the appropriate approval pathway.
  • Document Change requirements, conduct impact analysis, and outline testing needs.
  • Organize and present at the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing.
  • Oversee implementation, facilitate business testing, and manage defects.
  • Monitor and manage post-implementation reviews and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain the technical debt register and Change Request backlog, reporting to CAB.
  • Communicate and summarize issues clearly to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst is essential.
  • Experience in IT Change Management.
  • Background in Insurance or Financial Services.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar workflow and reporting management tools.
  • Prior experience in risk and/or compliance.
  • Understanding of Change Management processes.
  • Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services sector.
