Job Title: Secondary SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant

A secondary SEMH provision in Wigan is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-age pupil with SEMH needs, including challenging behaviour, on a 1:1 basis.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have experience with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour, strong behavioural management skills, and a good knowledge and understanding of SEMH and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support a secondary-age pupil with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Employ positive behaviour management techniques
  • Build a positive relationship with the pupil
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and other staff members
Requirements:
  • Experience with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour
  • Strong behavioural management skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of SEMH and safeguarding
  • Psychology graduates and those with Team Teach training are encouraged to apply
What We Offer:
  • £83.85+ per day through weekly PAYE (no umbrella company or agency fees) paid weekly
  • Full-time role Monday-Friday paid on a timesheet basis through Teaching Personnel
  • Opportunity to work with one-to-one with a child with SEMH, improving expertise and making a difference
