Job Title: Psychology Graduate Support Assistant

We are seeking a Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant in a SEND School in Wigan. As a Therapeutic Learning Support Assistant, you will work with pupils aged 11-19 with a primary diagnosis of Autism, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with Autism in a therapeutic and nurturing environment
  • Engage and support pupils' learning, promoting their inclusion and maximizing their achievement
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with pupils, helping them to manage emotional regulation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to provide a comprehensive support package

Requirements:
  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with SEND needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Able to de-escalate and support emotional regulation
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 12-39 weeks
