Job Title: Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary SEMH provision in Wigan. The successful candidate will work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who requires additional support due to SEMH needs, including challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to the pupil, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the pupil, using positive behaviour management techniques to promote a calm and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other professionals to ensure the pupil's needs are met and their progress is monitored.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Strong behavioural management skills and knowledge of safeguarding protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Registration with Teaching Personnel is required.
