About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Occupational Therapy Department to support individuals in achieving their goals and improving their mental well-being.
  • Assist Occupational Therapists and other multidisciplinary team members in the assessment, planning, and implementation of individual care plans.
  • Develop and deliver structured activities to promote engagement and participation in therapy sessions.
  • Build strong relationships with service users, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Contribute to the assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of individual progress, making recommendations for adjustments to care plans as needed.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2 qualification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work sensitively with individuals experiencing distress, disturbance, and unpredictability.
  • Flexibility and availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Basic understanding of mental health issues and a creative approach to problem-solving.
