Under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will assist in delivering organized activities and contribute to the planning of both individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will foster one-on-one relationships with service users to promote engagement in activities and facilitate their recovery journey.

In your role as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital part in the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and adjustment of structured activities to track progress and ensure their effectiveness.

Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, you will receive regional support and have access to a variety of training and online courses aimed at enhancing your professional development and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate within the Occupational Therapy Department assigned to specific service users. Assist Occupational Therapists, Primary Nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of personalized care plans. Work alongside fellow Rehabilitation Therapy Assistants to create a comprehensive out-of-hours structured activity program across the facility. Provide high-quality support and care to patients and their families, ensuring their dignity, equality, and mental well-being are prioritized at all times. Engage with individuals to facilitate their participation in a variety of activities, bridging care and organizational boundaries. Ensure service users comprehend and are supported in navigating their care pathways across different sectors and agencies. Collaborate with service users to help them achieve their identified goals and access appropriate services consistently. Participate in regular supervision and professional development activities in line with the role's requirements.

Qualifications:

GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2 qualification. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. Flexibility and accessibility in your availability. A solid foundational understanding of mental health issues. A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving. Practical skills to assist with daily living activities.
