Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Administrator to join our team at Smith and Reed Recruitment. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our financial transactions, including creditor and debtor management, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transactions: Manage financial transactions, including banking, credit control, and creditor payments, to ensure the financial performance of the business and the sales function are well supported.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce monthly reports, including profit and loss, cash flow, balance sheet, and debtor list, to provide accurate financial information to stakeholders.
  • Customer and Supplier Management: Update customer and supplier records on Sage, maintain good housekeeping, and work with the sales team to manage customer credit limits and payments, and the purchasing team to manage supplier terms and expectations.
  • Overheads Management: Monitor overheads, work with the general manager, and other departments as necessary to optimize costs.
  • Card and Website Income Streams: Manage card, website, and other income streams, working with the sales team to record and advise when received.
  • Month End and Prepayments/Accruals: Run month end and process prepayments and accruals.
  • Tax and VAT: Prepare VAT returns, and ensure PAYE, VAT, and other tax payments are set up and accounted for.
  • Accountant and Director Support: Prepare all journals and records for the accountant at year end and work closely with the directors to forecast the business needs and plans.

Requirements:

  • Sage 50: Experience with Sage 50 is essential.
  • Microsoft Packages: Proficiency in all Microsoft packages is required.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is necessary.
  • VAT Experience: Experience in VAT is required.
