Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team at 1st Choice Staff Recruitment. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, and performing various accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • VAT Returns and Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile client bank statements, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Client Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to their queries and concerns.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform various ad-hoc tasks as required, including data entry, invoicing, and other accounting-related duties.

Requirements:

  • Accounting Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in using Xero and Sage accounting software, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Client Management: Proven ability to manage multiple clients, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Competitive Salary: £25-26K per annum, pro rata for part-time hours.
