Position Overview

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Retail Development Manager to play a pivotal role within the Retail Experience Team. The Mass Sales division aims to bring the essence of Wizards of the Coast's brands to life across the sales channels in Europe, fully supporting the primary objectives of channel growth, user engagement, and player accessibility.

The main focus of this position is to enhance omni-channel visibility for Wizards brands in both retail and online environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate effective partnerships with Retail Partners to create impactful visibility strategies both in-store and online.
  • Support the strategic sales initiatives for Wizards in Retail through annual merchandising development plans.
  • Design and implement necessary displays and merchandising solutions in key retail partners across major markets (FR/DE/UK/IT/SP).
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to align on brand direction for Premier Set releases and ancillary products, executing leading channel activations to meet overall sales objectives.
  • Manage relationships with key retailers and wholesale partners in significant European regions.
  • Develop and implement robust online and offline brand presence with each retailer.
  • Refresh and enhance merchandising strategies in existing retail locations.
  • Establish a strong brand presence in newly acquired retail partners.
  • Create annual Retail Marketing plans that align with product releases, working in collaboration with our European Brand team and North American Studio/Marketing team.
  • Analyze metrics and insights to refine future campaigns and executions.
  • Drive demo and assisted selling programs, as well as staff training in direct retail partners.
  • Oversee online listings (excluding Amazon) for all Wizards products and ensure continuous monitoring and enhancement.
  • Foster a cross-functional mindset to share creative initiatives across other developing channels within the organization as needed.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Retail Marketing.
  • A background in Gaming, Video Games, or Entertainment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong collaborative skills across functions.
  • Experience in go-to-market strategies, particularly in Mass retail.
  • Proven track record of marketing excellence and partnership development, with experience in national retail and/or gaming retailers.
  • Exceptional creative judgment and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding project management skills, including execution, resourcefulness, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A genuine passion for gaming and entertainment media.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS Degree (or 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Ideally, a background in Gaming, Video Games, or Entertainment.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French or Danish is a plus.
