Play Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Play Specialist to join our team in the Paediatric Ward at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, holistic play services to children and their families, ensuring that all children have access to play while in hospital.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing play programmes to enable children and young people to understand, accept, and coordinate with treatment
- Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive play service
- Providing evidence-based play interventions to support the physical, emotional, and social needs of children
- Contributing to the development and implementation of play policies and procedures

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working as a hospital play specialist
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team
- Evidence of good communication skills with children and young people
- Understanding of children's safeguarding procedures
- BTEC Certificate in Hospital Play Specialism or HPSC/HPSEB or Foundation Degree in Health Care Play Specialism
- Registration with SOHPs
