Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Play Specialist to join our team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, holistic play services to children and their families in a Paediatric Ward setting.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing play programmes to support children's understanding, acceptance, and coordination with treatment.
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support for children and their families.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on play therapy and child development to healthcare professionals and families.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of play policies and procedures to ensure best practice.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience working as a hospital play specialist.
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication skills with children and young people.
  • Understanding of children's safeguarding procedures.
  • Registration with the Society of Play Therapists.
