Deputy Food Retail Manager

Challenge-trg Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to support our Food Hub Manager in an exciting opportunity at Foodkind, a not-for-profit organisation.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Food Hub, supporting our volunteer workforce, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will be responsible for processing incoming food deliveries, sorting food for the shop and deliveries, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for volunteers and the public.

The role will also involve updating and following risk assessments and compliance records, understanding the importance of food chain of custody and allergy information, and guiding and training volunteers of all backgrounds.

As a key member of our team, the Deputy Food Retail Manager will be responsible for maintaining an inclusive and welcoming approach in our charitable community, ensuring that our services are accessible to all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming food deliveries and sort food for the shop and deliveries
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for volunteers and the public
