Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Food Hub Manager in the day-to-day operations of the food retail business, including processing incoming food deliveries, sorting food for the shop and deliveries, and maintaining a well-stocked shop.
  • Ensure the hub is run safely and securely for volunteers and the public, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Update and follow risk assessments and compliance records to ensure the business remains compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Understand the importance of food chain of custody and allergy information, and ensure that all relevant procedures are followed.
  • Guide and train volunteers of all backgrounds, helping to manage the rota and ensure that all volunteers are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Maintain an inclusive and welcoming approach in our charitable community, ensuring that all clients and volunteers feel valued and supported.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of food retail operations and health and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers and the public.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
