About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Area Registered Manager to join our team at Aspirations Care Ltd. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading our Supported Living Services and ensuring that we deliver exceptional support services to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues, and associated complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet the requirements to register for CQC (Care Quality Commission) and maintain a high level of compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Create a positive team culture and role model excellent leadership and management practices, demonstrating the company's values and promoting a person-centered approach.
- Deliver responsive, effective, safe, caring, and supportive services in a person-centered manner, ensuring that outcomes for individuals are met and reviewed in recognition of personal growth and development.
- Establish good relationships with families, commissioners, advocates, and other professionals, promoting a collaborative approach to service delivery.
- Ensure that outcomes for individuals are met and reviewed in recognition of personal growth and development, and that practice within the team is guided by the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and the Mental Health Act (MHA) principles.
- Deliver the outcomes identified in the Quality Governance Strategy and Support Plans, as appropriate, and respond to local needs by filling voids in services in a timely manner while supporting individual preferences, wishes, and desires.
- Support colleagues in monitoring and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including employee retention, sickness absence levels, and void fill.
- Encourage an open culture in the team, listening to and acting on opportunities and issues raised by the team, as appropriate.
- Manage compliance with the company's quality and assurance processes, including quality audits and reviews, and ensure that all contractual and regulatory requirements are met.
- Promote and deliver person-centered support, including positive risk assessment and management, and positive behavioral support.
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate and factual records of care delivery.
- Recruit and retain the staffing establishment required to deliver an effective service, in accordance with company policy, inclusive recruitment methods, and legislative requirements.
- Plan and implement effective rotas and ensure that all employees are paid correctly.
- Provide a first-class induction and employee experience to all team members, bringing the company's values and behaviors to life at every opportunity.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 5 in Management or equivalent professional/academic qualification, or willingness to work towards.
- Proven experience at a manager/supervisory level within the learning disabilities and/or mental health sector.
- Experience of working as part of a Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).
- Experience of recruiting (safer recruitment), inducting, and training staff teams.
- Experience of conducting disciplinary investigations and writing investigation reports.
- Experience of working with individuals who have complex needs and demonstrate challenging behavior.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Concise, informative, and accurate report writing skills.
- Knowledge of CQC requirements and best practice.
- Ability to support people in the community with an appropriate degree of risk management, within a legal framework (MCA/MHA).
- Numerical competence (rotas, financial matters).
- Ability to supervise others.
- Flexible and committed, with the ability to participate in on-call duties.
- Honest, trustworthy, tolerant, patient.
- Committed to anti-oppressive practice.
Additional Requirements
- Full clean driving license.

Ensuring Business Viability
- A key responsibility of an Area Registered Manager is ensuring that the service provided is financially viable, with staff levels in line with supported commissioned hours, expenditure monitored and maintained, and authorization requested prior to agreed limits.
- Work with the Business Development team to develop new business and support the commissioning of new services.
- Manage any voids in services and proactively market voids to ensure the void period is limited.
- Carry out thorough and timely assessments of new referrals and submit costing, once agreed through the Referral Assessment Transition and Admission Management.
Health and Safety
- All employees are subject to the Health and Safety at Work Act and must co-operate with the company to ensure that regulations are adhered to by employees and visitors.
- Undertake duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the company's Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and legislation.
- Not interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety or welfare.
- Ensure and observe that infection control policy is adhered to, through audit and observations, that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn as per government guidelines, and when delivering personal care.
- Record and report through CPOMS and escalate as required any defects in equipment or the working environment.
- Provide a safe working environment.
Personal Development
- Actively participate in own supervision and personal review processes in accordance with company policy.
- Undertake any training that is deemed necessary and mandatory by the company.
- Commit to an agreed program of personal development, training activities, and undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as determined by the company.
