Senior Nursing Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nursing Manager to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Department Sister, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our staff.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a role model for junior team members, promoting a consistent high standard of nursing practice.
- Deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and support the leadership and management of the department, with a focus on quality and clinical standards.
- Continuing clinical responsibility for managing the wards/departments in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, including understanding finances, deploying, delegating, and supervising staff, and being visible and approachable for patients, staff, and visitors.

We are looking for a candidate with:
Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register.Substantial post-registration experience working in a complex Acute NHS care setting, supervising/mentoring junior staff, and demonstrating professional/knowledge in the area supplemented by specialist clinical and/or managerial training and CPD.Ability to maintain professional registration, relevant and recent clinical experience within the speciality/acute care setting, including the supervision/education of junior staff, and experience of mentoring undergraduate students.Demonstrable ability, experience, and passion in leadership, team building, managing resources, time management, role modeling, change management/clinical developments, clinical governance, audit and research, workforce planning/management, and NHS policy and political awareness.Additional CriteriaWe are looking for a candidate with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, approachable and friendly, supportive, flexible, well-organized, effective communicator, sound clinical reasoning and decision-making, ability to perform in complex and challenging situations, ability to inspire and lead a team, and ability to work flexible shift patterns, including rotation to day/night duty and unsocial hours according to service need.
