Position Overview

The NHS England Specialised Commissioning is looking for two dedicated Radiotherapy Improvement Fellows to contribute to national quality enhancement initiatives in the field of radiotherapy. This role is pivotal in supporting the transition of radiotherapy improvement priorities to local healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with the Cancer Programme of Care, Radiotherapy Team to facilitate the integration of quality improvement tools and innovative technologies into everyday clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with Radiotherapy Networks to implement nationally developed quality improvement frameworks and support peer learning initiatives.
  • Participate in clinical sessions, offering at least two per week, with flexibility to accommodate various commitments.
  • Work closely with the National Clinical Director for Cancer and the Radiotherapy National Specialty Advisor to enhance understanding of clinical leadership within the national context.
  • Contribute to the Professional Support and Standards Board, engaging in quality improvement initiatives and collaborating with junior fellows.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in collaborative leadership, particularly in working with Consultant Oncologists to achieve consensus.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including patient groups and community organizations, on significant change initiatives.
  • Proven track record of credibility within your service area, showcasing impactful projects that resonate within the broader health system.
  • Experience in applying clinical management skills to drive service-level quality improvements, focusing on reducing health disparities and enhancing workplace diversity.
