Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Training Fellow to join our team at The Institute of Cancer Research. As a key member of the Harris "Imaging for Radiotherapy Adaptation" group, you will lead the development of innovative new plane-wave and other techniques to maximize the value of 4D imaging sequences for the purpose of image guidance of radiotherapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cutting-edge imaging techniques using the Verasonics Vantage research platform and 2D ultrasound probe technology.
  • Collaborate with the Bamber "Ultrasound and Optical Imaging" and Oelfke "Radiotherapy Physics Modelling" groups to advance technology and scientific knowledge.
  • Design and implement tailored solutions to solve real-world problems in therapy guidance using ultrasound.
  • Contribute to the development of medical physics research and its translation into clinical practice.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in medical imaging, signal processing, and image analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • GPU programming is a plus.
  • A passion for productive contributions to advancing technology and scientific knowledge.

Working Environment:

The Joint Department of Physics conducts and translates research and development of medical physics into clinical practice. The department is a collaboration of academic and clinical staff from The Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
