Safety Engineering Specialist

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineering Specialist to join our Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE) team. This role is essential for delivering safety engineering expertise to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive in-house safety assessments to support ongoing operations and projects, including:
- Leading safety studies such as Total Risk Management, HAZID, Bowtie, and ALARP.
- Performing consequence modeling using industry-standard software.
- Executing Mini Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and developing Event and Fault Trees.
- Carrying out Fire and Explosion Risk Assessments.
- Preparing documentation for Safety Case Material Changes.
- Utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics Modelling as needed.
- Define the scope of safety studies, manage contractors, and ensure quality in technical safety assessments.
- Provide safety engineering support for the Management of Change (MOC) process, identifying necessary safety studies.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Offer guidance and support to various teams to ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
- Engage with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance and provide expert advice on HSE matters.
- Stay updated on changes in HSE legislation and industry standards.
- Assist in maintaining documentation and support periodic reviews related to Safety Case Regulations.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing QSHE standards and performance.
Qualifications:
- A higher technical qualification in engineering, such as Process Safety, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered status in mechanical or chemical/process engineering is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in Safety Engineering within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proficient in software applications including MS Office, PHAST, PHA-Pro, BowTie XP, and FLARESIM.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with senior management and regulatory agencies.
