Job Summary

Taylor & Francis Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term contract until the end of January. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and high-value accounting services to our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Close Process: Lead the monthly close process for management accounts, including reconciliations, accruals, allocations, revenue downloads, pre-payments, variance analysis, and commentary.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed in accordance with balance sheet integrity guidelines and control frameworks.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare financial reports and analysis, including group reporting, supplementary packs, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of accounting professionals, ensuring planning and prioritization of work to maintain and improve team performance.
  • Financial Systems: Publish financial results in relevant finance systems and ensure accurate and timely financial data.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between the SSO, group finance, and business teams.
  • Acquisition Integration: Participate in acquisition integration and due diligence activities.
  • Project Work: Contribute to key process testing and systems projects within the SSO and department.
  • Internal and External Audits: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Ad-Hoc Problems: Analyze and solve ad-hoc problems using knowledge of business and systems.
  • Tax and Compliance: Perform tax and compliance duties as required by the SSO.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience leading an R2R team in a large R2R function.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent knowledge and understanding of R2R processes, including best practices in R2R, people, processes, and technology.
  • Leadership and Communication: Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to remain approachable under pressure.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: A pro-rata'd salary of between £60,000 and £70,000 per annum.
  • Flexible Working: A balanced working model with a minimum of 1 day a week in our Colchester office and the remaining days working from home.
  • Benefits: A range of benefits, including 25 days annual leave, 3 additional discretionary days off, 4 paid volunteering days, company-funded private medical insurance, and a pension scheme.
