Job Overview

The Tax & Financial Accounting division operates on a global scale, tasked with the preparation and submission of both indirect and direct tax returns, statutory financial statements, and treasury back office operations.

This position is pivotal in ensuring exceptional service delivery within established timelines. Effective communication and the ability to forge relationships swiftly are essential, alongside a comprehensive understanding of the organizational structure and operational processes.

The incumbent will be expected to discern financial accounting matters from general discussions. You will provide precise and timely financial data to key business associates, external parties, and Group functions, collaborating closely with business partners to meet their specific needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and scrutinizing draft statutory accounts, both domestically and internationally, adhering to local regulations.
  • Coordinating with third-party service providers to share information, manage expectations, and review statutory accounts for compliance with local laws.
  • Managing statutory accounts software and delivering training to team members as necessary.
  • Overseeing and validating the iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of information for Group requirements.
  • Reviewing tasks related to dormant and non-trading entities.
  • Completing month-end activities associated with head office and treasury entities.
  • Aiding in the provision of information for audit inquiries.
  • Preparing and reviewing assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting corporate simplification initiatives.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of treasury transactions.
  • Contributing to monthly treasury compliance tasks, including account limits and loan facilities.
  • Overseeing and reviewing national statistic submissions.
  • Managing team workload effectively.
  • Motivating the team to achieve performance targets.
  • Supporting managers in the T&FA team to develop cross-training and rotation plans.
  • Providing coaching on both interpersonal and technical skills within the team.
  • Participating in recruitment and selection processes.
  • Acting as a role model for colleagues.
  • Handling administrative duties such as absence management and timesheet approvals.

Qualifications Required

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Tax & Compliance accounting.
  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of process and system improvements.
  • Adaptability to change.
  • Strong problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to encourage similar behavior in teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant internal systems.

  • Experience in people management is preferable.
