Job Overview

The Tax & Financial Accounting division is a worldwide team tasked with the preparation and submission of both indirect and direct tax returns, statutory account submissions, and treasury back office operations.

This position is pivotal in ensuring exceptional service delivery in accordance with established timelines. Strong communication skills and the ability to foster relationships swiftly are essential, along with a clear understanding of the organizational structure and operational methods.

The successful candidate will be adept at identifying financial accounting issues through general discussions. You will be responsible for delivering precise and timely financial data to key business partners, external stakeholders, and Group functions. Collaboration with business partners to comprehend their specific needs will be a critical aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and evaluate draft statutory accounts, both domestic and international, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers to supply necessary information, manage expectations, and review statutory accounts for regulatory adherence.
  • Manage statutory accounts software and provide necessary training to team members.
  • Oversee and review the iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts.
  • Assist in preparing information for Group requirements.
  • Review work related to dormant and non-trading entities.
  • Complete month-end tasks associated with head office and treasury entities.
  • Support the provision of information for audit inquiries.
  • Prepare and review assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the corporate simplification process.
  • Support the preparation and review of treasury transactions.
  • Assist with monthly treasury compliance tasks, including account limits and loan facilities.
  • Oversee and review national statistic forms.
  • Manage team workload effectively.
  • Encourage team performance to meet established metrics.
  • Support managers in developing cross-training and rotation plans within the team.
  • Provide coaching on both soft and technical skills.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection processes.
  • Act as a role model for team members.
  • Handle administrative duties such as absence management and performance appraisals.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant Tax & Compliance accounting experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven track record of improving processes and systems.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to inspire similar initiative in team members.
  • Familiarity with relevant internal systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Integrity in all professional dealings.
  • Excellent influencing capabilities.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, even under pressure.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Oracle systems is preferable.
  • Experience in people management is advantageous.
