Job Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our team, providing vital administrative and clerical assistance to our Diagnostic Day Care Unit.

This role is part-time, requiring hours per week, with a standard schedule from Wednesday to Friday. Flexibility to cover full-time hours during colleagues' annual leave is essential.

Candidates must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is organized and adaptable.

A solid educational background is necessary, with a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C (or equivalent), including both Maths and English. Proficiency in IT is also required.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering a well-structured and efficient administration/reception service to the Diagnostic Day Care Unit.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English (Grade C or above)
  • Keyboard skills; IT qualification or demonstrated experience

Desirable

  • RSA Stage 1 or equivalent
  • Customer care training/experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Interpersonal and Organizational Skills

Essential

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively
  • Flexible approach to meet changing demands
  • Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work

Desirable

  • Experience in handling emotional situations
  • Evidence of liaising with multiple disciplines

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Previous office or clerical experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act

Desirable

  • Experience with CAMIS or large mainframe databases
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work independently
