Electrical Maintenance Specialist - Plant & Cable

Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Maintenance Specialist - Plant & Cable include:

As a vital member of the team, you will be tasked with inspecting, operating, and maintaining the electrical transmission network. This role demands front-line technical expertise and effective coordination of daily operations within substation plant, cable, and overhead line maintenance teams.

Collaboration is key; you will work closely with substation fitters to foster strong working relationships, assisting management in coordinating and executing all aspects of inspection, repair, and maintenance activities.

You will take hands-on responsibility for a diverse array of high-value, critical electrical assets, ensuring their optimal performance.

Additionally, you will interpret and analyze various inspection data from both internal and external sources, taking ownership of remediation, rectification, and/or replacement of essential components to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the transmission network.

Accurate reporting of completed work and the identification and escalation of emerging trends in asset defects and failures will also be part of your responsibilities.

What We Are Looking For

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities for less experienced colleagues.
  • Capability to independently supervise complex and non-routine tasks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance management systems.
  • Progress towards or completion of an SVQ/NVQ in a STEM discipline or equivalent qualification, complemented by relevant experience.
