Electrical Maintenance Specialist - Plant & Cable

About the Position

Base Location: Flexible

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist in the Plant & Cable division, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough inspections, operations, and maintenance of the electrical transmission network.
  • Providing essential technical expertise and coordinating daily activities within maintenance teams focused on substations, cables, and overhead lines.
  • Collaborating closely with substation teams to foster strong working relationships, aiding in the effective management of operations and maintenance tasks.
  • Overseeing a diverse array of high-value electrical assets critical to network functionality.
  • Interpreting and analyzing inspection data from various sources, managing the remediation and replacement of key components to ensure safe and efficient network operations.
  • Accurately reporting on completed work and identifying trends in asset performance and potential failures.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Proficiency in supervising complex and non-routine tasks independently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance management systems.
  • Progress in or completion of an SVQ/NVQ in a STEM discipline or an equivalent qualification, along with relevant experience.
