Sleep Disorder Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sleep/CPAP Technician to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our Respiratory Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with sleep disorders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all equipment involved in sleep diagnostics and CPAP clinics, ensuring excellent infection control procedures. You will work collaboratively with our sleep specialists to support adults suffering from potential sleep disorders, performing clinical observations and taking bloods as required.
Key responsibilities will include setting up new patients with domiciliary sleep studies, downloading data, and maintaining infection control management of equipment. You will also be responsible for reviewing adult outpatients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea who currently use CPAP, assessing and monitoring progress, and evaluating interventions to ensure safe management and improved health status.

Main Duties of the Job- Manage all equipment involved in sleep diagnostics and CPAP clinics, ensuring excellent infection control procedures.
- Work collaboratively with sleep specialists to support adults suffering from potential sleep disorders, performing clinical observations and taking bloods as required.
- Set up new patients with domiciliary sleep studies, download data, and maintain infection control management of equipment.
- Review adult outpatients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea who currently use CPAP, assessing and monitoring progress, and evaluating interventions to ensure safe management and improved health status.

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Flexibility and team participation.
- Good IT skills.
- Ability to perform basic clinical observations, such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturations.
