About the Role
Much Wenlock and Cressage Medical Practice is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our reception team as a Medical Receptionist. As the first point of contact for patients, you will provide excellent, confidential, and professional service to patients and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage patient appointments, including booking, amending, and cancelling appointments, ensuring the computerized appointment system is up-to-date.
- Register new patients, ensuring relevant checks are made, and register patients for online services.
- Process requests for repeat prescriptions, including medicines management administration.
- Perform various administrative tasks, such as checking in and entering information of drug deliveries, accessing Shropdoc overnight reports, and uploading documents via Docman.
- Respond to incoming Practice emails and electronic consultations within the relevant time scale.
- Ensure the smooth running of the reception area, including maintaining filing systems, preparing consultation rooms, and performing general housekeeping tasks.
Person Specification
We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, IT skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work effectively as part of a team. A good standard of general education, including GCSE English, is essential. Experience of working in a General Practice Reception environment is desirable, but not essential.
