Position Overview

We are seeking an Energy Modelling Analyst for a fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension. This role can be based in multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis and Problem Solving: Enhance your technical and modelling capabilities while collaborating with economic analysts to innovate or refine existing energy market models.
  • Communication: Articulate your technical findings and the rationale behind them clearly and effectively.
  • Work Management: Organize and prioritize tasks to consistently deliver high-quality work amidst competing demands.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a dynamic international team, sharing knowledge and supporting broader economic initiatives.
  • Client Engagement: Maintain regular communication with clients, tailoring outputs to meet their specific needs.
  • Firm Contribution: Participate in the firm’s culture and values, contributing to a workplace that is open, engaging, profitable, and enjoyable.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of a 2:1 (B+ or equivalent) bachelor’s degree, preferably with a Master’s in economics or a related field.
  • A strong interest in energy markets and their economic implications.
  • Experience with optimization challenges and familiarity with algebraic modelling languages (e.g., GAMS).
  • Proficiency in R or Python, with knowledge of tools like Git/GitHub, STATA, Mathematica/Matlab, and PowerBI being advantageous.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a willingness to learn and apply new methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, particularly under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines effectively.
  • A demonstrated interest in the intersection of energy modelling and economics, including market design and consumer behavior.
  • Fluency in English; a second language is a plus but not mandatory.
