Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Analyst to join our team at Chronos Energy, a leading energy company in the low carbon heat sector. As a Senior Energy Analyst, you will be responsible for driving business growth by providing accurate, critical, and timely data to the Energy Intelligence team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, monitor, and report on plant physical performance, including thermal and cooling efficiencies, electrical efficiencies, operational regimes, and plant outputs.
  • Maintain and develop data collection to enable effective internal and external reporting.
  • Investigate and improve all system losses, including thermal and electrical losses, parasitic loads, and other inefficiencies.
  • Report on energy efficiency and financial performance of energy sales.
  • Identify adverse trends and opportunities for improvements.
  • Investigate and improve all system losses.
  • Ongoing analysis and modelling of energy schemes trends and performance, diagnosing and recommending rectification to ensure consistent and efficient energy delivery.
  • Calculate and peer review energy revenues and costs.
  • Support training for Graduates.
  • Actively manage hedging and procurement, comparing energy purchase, use, and consumption to deliver maximum efficiency and best value.
  • Manage energy optimisation models that integrate with operational planning and financial processes.
  • Carry out regular review of Junifer data and compare with the EI team bulk data.
  • Identify trends and anomalies in Junifer consumption and manage resolution.
  • Investigate and improve all secondary system losses.
  • Monitor and manage C3ntinel data for gaps, spikes, and issues.
  • Assess the current performance of energy schemes and recommend improvement changes and upgrades.
  • Perform variance to budget analysis.
  • Lead the formation of energy budgets.
  • Carry out thermal and electrical balances, identifying and rectifying any imbalances where possible.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of data analysis, modelling, utilities, and operational knowledge of power and heating and cooling plants.
  • Motivated and professional, with a commitment to a role that provides both opportunity and challenge.
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Qualified to a minimum 2:1 degree level in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering Discipline.
  • Demonstrable competence in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • An understanding of the principles of district energy and CHP.
  • Heating and cooling system design, including a range of generation systems (CHP, Biomass, Boilers, etc.).
  • Must be both positive and proactive when approaching all tasks.
  • Knowledge of Controls, VSDs, and Metering Systems.
  • Member of a professional Institute and working towards chartership.
