We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Analyst to join our team at Chronos Energy. As a Senior Energy Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving our energy efficiency initiatives and ensuring the optimal performance of our thermal and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure, monitor, and report on plant physical performance, including thermal and cooling efficiencies, electrical efficiencies, operational regimes, plant outputs, etc.
  • Maintain and develop data collection to allow effective internal and external reporting.
  • Investigate and improve all system losses, including thermal and electrical losses, parasitic loads, etc.
  • Report on energy efficiency and financial performance of energy sales.
  • Identify adverse trends and opportunities for improvements.
  • Investigate and improve all system losses.
  • Ongoing analysis and modelling of the energy schemes trends and performance, diagnosing and recommendations for rectification to ensure that energy is delivered consistently and efficiently to meet contractual requirements.
  • Calculate and peer review energy revenues and costs.
  • Support training for Graduates.
  • Actively manage hedging and procurement, comparing energy purchase, use, and consumption to deliver maximum efficiency and best value.
  • Manage energy optimisation models which integrate with the operational planning and financial process.
  • Carry out regular review of Junifer data and compare with the EI team bulk data.
  • Identify trends and anomalies in Junifer consumption and manage resolution.
  • Investigate and improve all secondary system losses.
  • Monitor and manage C3ntinel data for gaps, spikes, issues.
  • Assess the current performance of the energy schemes and recommend improvement changes and upgrades.
  • Perform variance to budget analysis.
  • Lead with the formation of energy budgets.
  • Carry out thermal & electrical balances identifying and rectifying any imbalances where possible.
Requirements:
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Motivated and professional, who wishes to commit to a role which will provide both opportunity and challenge.
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Qualified to a minimum 2:1 degree level in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Discipline.
  • Demonstrable competence in the use of Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • An understanding of the principals of district energy and CHP.
  • Heating and cooling system design including a range of generation system (CHP, Biomass, Boilers etc.) would be an advantage.
  • Must be both positive and proactive when approaching all tasks.
  • Knowledge of Controls, VSDs, and Metering Systems would be an advantage.
  • Member of a professional Institute and working towards chartership would be an advantage.
