Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Clinical Nutrition Specialist at University Hospital Ayr.

Key Responsibilities:

Are you seeking a new challenge with increased responsibilities? This pivotal role within our Hospital Dietetic Team is designed for you. In addition to taking on a senior position within the team and assisting with daily leadership, you will provide clinical guidance to patients in the surgical unit and those suffering from gastrointestinal disorders, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will be a vital member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and will be expected to assess the effectiveness of our interventions using quality improvement techniques.

We have an integrated community dietetic team available to support patients and their families or caregivers upon discharge as necessary.

As a senior team member, you will also be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and educating junior colleagues and students during their practical placements, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registered Dietitian with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Considerable general dietetic experience is preferred.
  • Expertise in dietary management for individuals with gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Knowledge of dietary management for surgical patients, both pre and post-operation.

Working Hours:

Up to 37 hours per week.

Driving Requirements:

A valid UK driving license and car ownership are essential for this position.
