The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Technician to join our Commercial Property team in Manchester. As a key member of our Support function, you will play a vital role in providing effective support to our Adjusters, ensuring the efficient and productive handling of commercial claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer new claims, including receiving instructions, issuing acknowledgments, setting up files, and conducting risk screening and triaging.
  • Collaborate closely with Adjusters to assist with investigation and validation inquiries.
  • Manage the lifecycle of files to drive diary management and support the proactive management of claims from setup to conclusion.
  • Oversee Adjuster caseloads when necessary during periods of leave.
  • Liaise with insureds, insurers, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal customer service and serve as a point of contact as needed.
  • Support the production of technical reports for Adjusters in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines, adhering to agreed-upon timescales.
  • Ensure time reporting and billing align with internal standards and processing systems.
  • Develop and run management information for clients and internal use, including performance measurement and data integrity reports.
  • Ensure company standards are met regarding technical and operational policies and procedures, including data protection and information security.
  • Provide account management support as required.
  • Handle incoming telephone calls and resolve queries.
  • Process invoices.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed.
About You
  • Prior experience in an insurance or loss adjusting environment is beneficial but not essential.
  • You must have experience in a fast-paced office and/or administration environment.
  • You should be able to learn and adapt to systems effectively and efficiently.
  • You should be organized and able to self-manage your workload, possessing a methodical, accurate, and analytical approach to work, with a strong emphasis on quality output.
  • You should have a good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate clearly, concisely, and in a structured manner.
  • You should have strong relationship management skills, with the ability to establish good working relationships with your team, colleagues, and third parties.
  • You should have excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting demands.
  • You should thrive in a high-pressure working environment.
  • You should be driven to meet and exceed targets.
  • You should be flexible regarding travel, which may be required as needed.
