About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team at Peabody, working with young residents aged 16-17 years old. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support and guidance to help them achieve their goals and regain independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on support to residents, including regular welfare checks and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with external services to ensure comprehensive support for residents.
  • Manage a group of young residents with complex needs, offering practical and emotional support.
  • Establish consistent, trusting relationships with residents to ensure they feel secure and supported.
  • Recognize and respond to potential issues, navigating and defusing difficult situations to prevent escalation.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with teenagers aged 16-17 years old.
  • Experience of managing challenging behavior.
  • Knowledge or experience of safeguarding and trauma-informed principles.
