Position: Construction Project Leader

Location: Central London

Salary: Competitive

Our client, a prominent Traditional Fit-out Contractor with a substantial turnover, is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Leader to join their expanding team in Central London.

As a Construction Project Leader, you will oversee all facets of the construction lifecycle from inception to completion. This includes managing resources, timelines, budgets, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans, incorporating timelines, resources, and budgets in collaboration with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project goals and specifications.
  • Supervise and manage the entire construction process, ensuring projects are executed according to design, schedule, and financial constraints.
  • Lead on-site construction operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Oversee site managers, foremen, subcontractors, and other personnel, assigning tasks and responsibilities to ensure clarity in roles, providing guidance, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and proactively address potential challenges.
  • Prepare and manage resource allocation, ensuring optimal use of resources, monitoring project expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Compile and submit precise financial and development reports/documentation to senior management.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with contractual obligations and addressing any disputes or claims that may occur during project execution.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions, ensuring all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations and that all necessary permits and licenses are secured for the project.
  • Review and approve completed work to ensure it meets specifications and high-quality standards of workmanship and materials throughout the project, effectively addressing any quality issues in coordination with relevant authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or qualifications in Construction Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar role within the Commercial Fit-out Industry.
  • CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid Site certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver results within budget and on schedule.
  • Strong understanding of project execution in Fit Out projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
