Job Title: Facilities Estimator - Cost Management Specialist

Location: Remote, home-based with some travel

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £60,991.83

About Us: Gov Facility Services Limited (GFSL) is a Ministry of Justice business that provides critical and time-bound services to HMPPS.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced FM Estimator to join our team at GFSL. The successful candidate will have a high level of technical expertise combined with organisational skills and the ability to influence senior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage change into business as usual, working proactively across teams to price the maintenance of new assets and changes to assets and services.
  • Work closely with experienced and passionate colleagues in the Commercial and Supply Chain team to ensure the smooth and safe delivery of facilities maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior colleagues in GFSL and the Ministry of Justice.
  • Provide cost estimates and commercial management expertise to support the effective operation of prisons.

Requirements:

  • FM Industry Experience including cost and/or commercial management.
  • Experience preparing cost estimates.
  • Demonstrable Leadership Skills.
  • An ability to work under pressure and prioritise task management.
  • An ability to understand technical specifications and engineering information.
  • Strong IT systems/Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and nonverbal.
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail, the ability to understand complex information and excellent problem-solving and numerical skills.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety, Quality and environmental standards with the ability to demonstrate how cost estimating supports these standards.
  • Quantity Surveying, engineering or equivalent qualification.
