Job Title: Senior Process Consultant

On Line Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Consultant to lead the process delivery within a project environment and execute a mixture of consultancy and design work across various industry sectors, with a primary focus on the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expertise within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors.
  • Be the technical authority for the application of Good Manufacturing Practice within a design environment.
  • Prepare and deliver thought-provoking articles and presentations to promote On Line Group as technology and thought leaders within our sectors.
  • Attend and lead special interest groups, technical forums, or other engineering and technology-focused groups to stay up-to-date on current and future trends.
  • Lead key technical reviews, including design reviews, GMP reviews, gap assessments, and HAZOP studies.
Technical Design:
  • Demonstrate experience with various kinds of pharmaceutical or similar production and design across a range of sectors.
  • Have a working knowledge of the supporting utilities required for aseptic processing, their specification, and equipment required for their generation, including Clean Steam, Clean Compressed Air, Purified Water, Water for Injection, and CIP fluids.
  • Familiarity with methods of biological containment classifications, facility segregation, and equipment to protect people and product.
  • Generate, check, and approve process design models, documents, drawings, and reports.
Project Delivery:
  • Lead a project design team and be able to coach and mentor more junior engineers, coordinating the technical design across engineering disciplines such as E, C&I, and Piping.
  • Liaise with clients, Project Managers, and other disciplines to ensure the smooth running of the process aspects of projects, providing adequate information for planning, cost control, and equipment costing.
  • Ensure that the process design and subsequent detailed engineering do not jeopardize the plant safety or performance.
  • Advise Project Managers of all technical risks inherent in a plant design and assist in the evaluation of these risks through to successful conclusion.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify procedures, practices, and standards required by the process team to efficiently carry out its work and coordinate the preparation of such.
  • Identify areas of process development that are likely to benefit the company.
Business Development:
  • Support the Business Development team on sales visits, conference calls, and/or client meetings.
  • Lead/support the production of compelling and competitive proposals.
  • Generate/check/approve scope of work write-ups and manhour estimates to comply with tender requirements.
Requirements:
  • Chemical Engineering degree recognized by the IChemE or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of process safety-related regulations and methodologies. Prior experience as a HAZOP would be an advantage.
  • Hands-on operating experience through a commissioning or similar role.
  • Ability to communicate via both verbal and written means to peers and to people outside of the company.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for developing further competency in Process Engineering expertise and leadership (in terms of Experience, Sectors, and Project Life Cycle).
  • Legally permitted to live and work in the UK.
  • UK Driving Licence.
