Job Title: Public Health Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Public Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in public health and a passion for improving health outcomes for pregnant women and new born babies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To contribute to the delivery of a high quality public health programme for pregnant women and new born babies in Barts Health NHS Trust.
  • To take a woman-centred and public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities.
  • To provide advice, information and promote immunisation including Public Health Screening programme to pregnant women and to provide support and education to other staff.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with The Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Person Specification:
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Knowledge of public health agenda in maternity and Knowledge of Screening and Immunization for pregnant women and Neonates.
  • Knowledge of child protection.
  • Knowledge of National and local Policies within the NHS community nursing.
  • Competent in IV medicines administration and cannulation.
  • Post registration experience
  • Experience of successfully managing conflict
